We have been working since 1962, when visionary architects Diomedes Kythreotis and Takis Zembylas, established the architectural practice of Zembylas & Kythreotis, thus signalling the beginning of a journey guided by unwavering principles of innovation, sustainability, and a deep commitment to client satisfaction. The founders’ foresight and dedication laid the foundation that would go on to shape the local and international architectural landscapes for decades to come.

The initial years were marked by the firm’s adaptation to emerging architectural styles and technological advancements in construction. From the modernist influences of the 1960s to the postmodern explorations of the 1980s, Zembylas & Kythreotis remained at the forefront of design, consistently pushing boundaries while maintaining a sense of timelessness.
The Zembylas & Kythreotis partnership lasted for two decades from 1962 to 1982, the year Diomedes Kythreotis established the architectural firm of Kythreotis architects as we know it today which associate architect Charilaos Kythreotis joined in 1993 after graduating from the Architectural Association in London.
Since the beginning, the Kythreotis name has been associated with the local architectural profession, and its experience and built works have earned it the recognition as one of the most creative, serious, versatile, honest, and respected names in the industry.
One of our distinguishing features is our commitment to human-centric design. We understood that architecture goes beyond aesthetics and functionality; it shapes the human experience. Since the beginning we have managed to stay in touch with the demanding changes within the industry while earning an immense amount of experience in all the services that we offer, as well as managing to always be at the forefront of the modern movement of Cyprus architecture.
